This page is about dave, if you've been to gametronix you would of met me (I am writing this page), I've listed this somewhat personal page discreetly under the gametronix site, because in one way or another over the years gametronix's customers have come to know me quite well, my personal life has been undeiniably intertwined with my business ventures for better or worse and the other guys just get sick of 'wheres dave and whens he gonna be back' type lines. So here it is... all the goss and a little insight into my world..... which is two very different places! Wo Bu Zhidao .. (I dunno) 8.12.08
Well the last week has been pretty rough ... Laopo's mum is suffering a lot of pain. So I try to make her smile every chance i can. That's the rare specialy chinese dish from Fruit Parks (Guo Yuan) finest Fandian (Restaurant). The 'hen gaoxing' (very happy) ... key ingredients are peanuts, bean curd and seaweed. Hao chu ma? ... oh and a dash of carrot and chilli

another cool thing down town china is the massive outdoor LED TV's! They often have little video's... olympic footage ... or an advert for whats inside the building! Zhaozi ma? (want dumplings?) ... just head on up to level 5. It's a pretty clever wat to promote what you've got inside your store. I mean would you have guessed they served up dumplings in there?

Well xmas is looming ... and were all wishing for laopo's mum to get well!

... so we've been looking after her. Unfortunately her sons wedding was on the weekend and she wasn't well enough to attend....I guess that really is a big indicator of the current situation ... if you know how the chinese see weddings of eldest sons. Her cancer has spread to her lower back now. The doctors say when cancer spreads into the bone the pain....it is the most painful feeling of all. Somehow we managed to get mama to sleep a little ... and i managed to coax a smile from my dear laopo. Further on this note my blogging time has been some what dimished ... for obvious reasons. so i'll blog when an if can. Shenme Dongxi!!!

This little section is dedicated to that weird or strange thing which inadvertently you see everyday in china .. so to prove a point i'll see if i can find one 'mai tian do' (every day).

Subway - "Interstate" Train - Road Crossing 8.12.08

...Well having been looking out my window for sometime now i realised that the direction of the train that i love to hear go past at 2 am was heading straight toward the subway line ... i wonder how they deal with that! ... so i went to investigate last weekend.. zuo yo ("or so" ...literally that is "left right" ...which is like saying 'thereabouts')...

So... what do you do when you've got a 'subway' line ... a freight train line and a road crossig all at the same point. Yep.. (behind those billboards a freight train line is hiding!) Up on the huge concrete pillars is the 'subway' line (out this far it aint undeground any more) ... bicycles and motorists go underneath! I remeber thinking we were up pretty high up first time i took the subway ... but you tend to be often squeezed in pretty tight ... your not really taking in the view :)
